Nopa Emerging as a Hot Neighborhood
The Mission's beloved Bi-Rite Market is finally opening a new branch. The new market will open on Divisadero, right next to the popular restaurant Nopa, which shares an anecdotal name with the neighborhood. Have a look at some insider previews:
- Tablehopper takes a look inside, and gets the scoop on yet another upcoming eatery in the hood.
- Local blog Haighteration got the first sneak peek on the space.
- Grub Street corroborates the opening coming up within a couple weeks.
I lived on Dolores Park when the current incarnation of Bi-Rite opened in 1997. With its opening, the neighborhood positively blossomed, opening the gates for the development of the über-hot 18th Street and Valencia Corridor areas. I am confident that the new market will bring a similar vibrancy to the Nopa neighborhood.
But that's not to say that Nopa isn't already a hopping destination in its own right. If you're looking for a centrally located neighborhood with everything at your fingertips, look no further. Nopa boasts extraordinary access to restaurants, nightlife, transit, parkland and, yes, markets, including the local farmers market. I've pinned a few notable places in the map below.
If you think you'd like to live in Nopa, I'm happy to help you find a home that serves your needs.
