New Construction Update

Once a year my broker takes me on an open bus tour of all the new construction projects around San Francisco. I love the tour as it really shows where the development is happening, progress on multi-year projects, and where the next development is about to break ground.  There is obviously a lot of construction happening in SOMA, especially around the new Transbay Terminal (over 4000 units in development/planned), as well as down in Dogpatch/Central Waterfront (over 1,300 units in development/planned). Also, there continues to be many units under construction in Hayes Valley (over 1,800 units in development/planned). There are new buildings being built all over the city. The south slope of Potrero has a little over 400 units in development or planned.  Over the next couple of years I bet the south slope of Potrero will be aligned to Dogpatch in the MLS, as is it much closer to that business district. Mid-Market continues to evolve and will have a very different skyline over the next many years.

Here are a few snapshots from the tour.
